This section is to help family members understand our policies and best practices regarding interacting with the loved one in an appropriate and healthy way while they are attending the Providence Women’s Recovery program.

Can I Call My Loved One?

Unfortunately the ladies cannot receive incoming phone calls. However, they are allowed to make phone calls starting the 7th evening they are here from 5:00 p.m.to 9:45 p.m. EST. Only outgoing calls from the houses can be made. The ladies will need a domestic landline phone card to make phone calls. The ladies are allowed 20 minutes per day on the phone. On the weekends they can make calls when not participating in an activity until 9:45 p.m. EST.

What Do I Do if I Need to Reach My loved One During Business Hours?

You can call our administrative office at 706-519-0404 or 706-519-0304 and we will make sure they get the message.

How Do I Reach Staff In Case Of Emergency?

During business hours, Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST, you can reach our administrative staff at 706-519-0404 or 706-519-0304. Feel free to leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible. However, if you need to reach us after regular business hours, call the main Providence Ministries’ phone number, 706-275-0268. This number can be utilized 24 hours a day. Please inform them you are calling about a lady in the Providence Women’s Recovery program. They will make sure we get the message.

Are They Allowed To Have Cell Phones/Ipads/Kindles While In The Program?

We have found that having any electronic devices that can obtain a Wi-Fi connection during their stay is detrimental to their recovery. This list includes, but is not limited to, personal radios, tablets, laptops, cell phones, cassette players, DVD players, Walkman’s, headphones, cameras, iPods, Kindles, and/or Nooks are not permitted.

If I Need To Make A Payment While They Are In The Program What Do I Do?

Mrs. Pat Johnson handles the money for our program. If you need to make a credit card payment, you can contact her at 706-275-0268. You can also mail a check or money order to:

On the check/money order, please designate who the money is for and what it is for (scholarship, personal spending, or medical fund)

Can I Give Money Directly To My Loved One On a Visitation?

No. Please give it to the house mom. We will make sure the ladies get that money when it is needed.

When Can I Visit?

The ladies can have visitors (mother, father, grandparents, husband, children, siblings and female sponsor) beginning the second Sunday they are here.

You have a couple of options:

  • Meet them at the church service at 10:30. After church you can have the afternoon free to enjoy the day.
  • If you are not able to attend the church service, you can meet them at their residence at 1:00.
  • The ladies must be back at their residence by 5:00 p.m.
What Do I Do If I Live Over 4 Hours Away?

Special arrangements can be made for families coming from a long distance (over 4 hours).

Can They Accept Mail/Packages?

Absolutely! This is a great way to encourage your loved ones while they are in the program. All mail must be opened in front of a staff member before they can read it. Mail can be sent directly to them. Once their residence has been designated, we will give you that address.
